Around Oxford, the winter has been more wet than cold so it was a bit misleading to catch my shots for my ongoing visual survey project on a frosty morning last week:
The stand of Cornus (left hand side, in front of the polytunnel) admirably do their job of maintaining a splash of colour, while the frost picks out the tracery of patterns in the tree branches the skeletons of last year’s more herbaceous plants.
