The new bed is now completed in the front garden, with five blueberry plants and a rather sad little heather that will hopefully perk up in all that acid-rich soil:

From other plants where we have specimens in and out of pots, the ones in the soil almost always grow much more vigourously so hopefully we will have a bumper harvest next year. Meanwhile, we’ll enjoy the beautiful leaves and stems which add another touch of fire to the front garden.
