Virgin birth was in the news today. No, not that one (we’re about as far through the year from Christmas as you can get) but wild sawfish populations in Florida.
Naturally occuring parthenogenesis doesn’t explain, nor explain away, the Christian nativity story. However, it does caution us not to scoff too quickly about something being impossible. It brings to mind a line from Hamlet:
