I had some early doubts but my plan to give up the snooze button for Lent seems to be working out well. I was concerned that it would give me restless nights but I’m finding that I sleep as well as before but typically wake naturally safely before the alarm is due to go off. In effect I still get a snooze if I want but not with that enervating ability to throw away another few minutes… and another few… and another few….
As a caveat, it would be fair to mention that I’m only setting the alarm on days where I need to be up for a particular time (mainly work days) and I’m setting it a bit later than I would previously have done. However, I think the experiment is working well and the snooze button is something I might be giving up for longer than just the run up to Easter.
