I’m still enjoying the summer (although it is turning showery again this week) but I must admit I’m looking forward to the winter. The critical question I want to answer is how much wood our woodstove gets through. All our current storage for chopped logs is filled and I’ve still got a few more piles to process; until I get to run the experiment, it is a bit of a mystery whether we’ve already gathered enough to see us through a couple of years or if we’ll have run out by November.
It’s a fairly small stove but jammed on high because we’re in a “smoke free” area; we are quite often out in the evening (and certainly out of the front room) but a fire might tempt us down more often. Too many variables; roll on the experiment.
