Today has proven that I’ve lost the knack of judging for delays caused by traffic. We were too late to drop a friend at the station because of Friday afternoon traffic so we decided to drive him home instead, just south of Birmingham. That was also a traffic heavy journey although we did get him to the front door about the same time he would have arrived if we’d got him to the train on time.

At least it gave us an adventure to remember and a few more hours together (along with a chance to catch up with the rest of his family and a pleasant meal). However, I am going to try to be more pessimistic in my guesstimates about traffic delays!
