You may recall that I was distinctly unimpressed with my encounter with Bengal Lancer IPA a few weeks ago. Perhaps it was a bad barrel or just the nature of the draft product. I recently bought a bottle of the same brew and was much better.

That said, it was still sweeter than I like up front with an overpowering hop aftertaste. I certainly wouldn’t rate it among my favourite beers. However, the higher carbonation of the bottled product improved the mouth feel and I found it more palatable. I might chance another bottle one of these days although I still think I’d only sample the draft version again if the only other choices were generic lagers and that’s not the sort of pub I end up in very often.
