We’re still holding off on turning out heating on. It will get a go on Friday though when we’re having some new radiators fitted. We’re getting two vertical ones at opposite ends of the front room (to replace a single horizontal one that sometimes gets lost under a curtain and isn’t quite hefty enough to warm the far end), another vertical one on a chimney breast upstairs and, hopefully, the small one that is currently there put into the open cupboard in our (presently unheated) bedroom.

We are looking forward to the warmth as it gets colder outside and also to seeing how well these radiators work; we’ve gone for aluminium ones which are reckoned to be very efficient at heating up. Of course, that lack of thermal inertia will mean they will cool down quicker as well be I’m hopeful they will prove to be a good solution.
