I got a new bulb for one of our rooms yesterday. Low energy consumption and, this time, a “daylight” bulb. It produces a very different quality of light and, while not nearly as subtle or varied as real daylight, certainly gets partway towards it.

Hopefully it will get somewhere towards the promised ten year life span – I also bought a shade to go with it as I think the last (unshaded) bulb met a slightly untimely end because I kept catching it!
