Today’s new skill is cutting hardboard and laying it on the floorboards in the room we are decorating. If all goes well (and I’m probably about 80% of the way there), tomorrow’s will be laying carpet tiles and, once that is done, we can start moving the furniture back in.
Actually, it isn’t quite the first time. For the bathroom we also put down a wooden underlay but there we used the faux-panel sheets that had been up in the sitting room, more of a thin plywood with a veneer. However, it turns out that the same approach works well here; score deeply with a stanley knife and then snap, tidy and slot into position.
Back to work!
