On Friday I tried a recipe for an “Easter Ring” (a sweet dough, spread with chopped fruits, rolled into a log and then bent round to form a ring). Very tasty but, it turned out, too easy to overcook.
I made another one yesterday afternoon, which we took round to share with friends. Cautious of the cooking speed (it must be something to do with all the sugar inside) I turned the heat down a bit more and checked it earlier. The result was much better and went down a treat. I think I have got the hang of this recipe now and the proof was in the pudding.
