I got my brown beer bottled up today, a whole six bottles worth (and green rather than brown glass to boot). That isn’t a particularly impressive final haul in terms of volume for time invested but it is a reasonable amount to test the recipe. The only problem will be trying to scale it up; I could probably manage up to about 12 bottles worth but would otherwise need to invest in at least a larger pot to brew in.
The interim results (the half-bottle that was left over) was promising. It was a bit sweet because of the carbonation sugar but I can detect a pleasant taste underneath that and the strong hoppy tang I was aiming for. Now I have to wait until at least early March to find out whether I should think about scaling up for this recipe or experiment with another short brew.
