I picked up some birch wine yesterday; I love trying something new. What is it like? Not unpleasant but very sweet. For half the price I could buy some cheap “British Fortified Wine” (kept in stock as my cooking sherry) which, although darker in colour, is quite similar in taste. It was a worthwhile experiment but I would not go out of my way to buy it again.
