Most of today has been taken up with more work on our kitchen project: visiting a local design centre, secretly balking at the price, deciding to restrict ourselves to what is within our DIY limits and then undertaking another research trip to IKEA. We only came back with one new piece of furniture although ideas for several more (subject to further measuring).

It was getting late by the time our stroll round the store was coming to the end so we decided to grab some food and I fulfilled a long-held ambition to sample the Swedish meatballs. I actually got fifteen rather than one but “fifteen meatballs” wasn’t a song performed by Ry Cooder and plenty of others. It was a surprisingly good meal for the price although not so fantastic that I will be rushing back there just to dine.
