I still have a backlog of photos from the end of last year to work through but, having spotted that our Hamamelis was flowering, could not pass up the opportunity to capture the moment. I had to charge the batteries on my flash first, since the plant grows in the shade of our front garden, but was pleased with the result; given the lighting conditions, the background would probably have come out almost as dark even earlier in the afternoon.

I hope that later this year it will put on some growth and be a larger feature plant by this time next year. At the moment it is still little larger than when we bought it last summer.
