For my second eco-tip, I’ll return to a rhyme I mentioned a longtime ago: If it’s yellow, let it mellow; if it’s brown, flush it down.
All but the most genteel will guess that this refers to the toilet.Liquid and solid excretions smell but the results of micturation cansit a while before needing another cistern of water spent on flushingthem away. In the privacy of my home (and when not hosting politecompany) it can wait until the compound colour becomes dark, whenjoined by something more solid or when I’m going out for some time(like heading off to work for the day).
There is an additional tip to go with this – keep the lid down. Notonly does that limit the dissemination of odours but also avoids thedanger of dropping things in. I’ve lost a hair tie this way butsomething like a hair brush would be far worse!
