Last night’s gig with The Adrian Astor Quintet was most enjoyable. The David Lloyd club over at Raynes Park is nicely done up and a pleasant environment; I got to play most of the second set relaxing on a comfortable leather sofa.

I also enjoy playing in a smoke-free environment; I am looking forward to later this year, when further restrictions will be imposed on smoking in enclosed public areas. That should lead to an even higher proportion of clean-aired concerts; I was expecting the club to be smoke-free but it is less of a given with many pubs (although already improved from a few years ago).

I needed a lie-in this morning, though, to keep up with my Lent resolution!
